Laura is an author & illustrator born in Louisville, Kentucky, who creates playful and heartfelt children’s stories and illustrations. Growing up Laura loved to eat peas right from the pod, make up stories, color, cut and paste. Nursery rhymes, picture books, fairytales and folklore sparked Laura’s creativity and her desire to be a storyteller. A former youth librarian and educator, she brings curiosity and a love of learning into every page she makes. Drawn to the natural world and inspired by life’s little moments, Laura’s work blends gentle humor with vivid, warm imagery.  An avid traveler, she is ready to go with sketch book in hand to see what new adventure awaits. Laura currently lives in Watertown, New York, with her family and a very curious cat, where she still eats peas out the pod.
